Our goal is to educate you about the purpose and function of many of the marine parts required to keep your boat running smoothly. Whether you're a veteran seaman or a novice, one thing you all know is that a boat comes equipped with hundreds of moving parts.

No one person can know everything there is to know about the proper functioning of every boat part. That's why we've tapped the collective wisdom of our long-time technical experts to share their knowledge and expertise.

What You Need to Know About the Indmar Fuel Pump Conversion Kit

Indmar Electric Fuel Pump Conversion KitThe Indmar fuel pump conversion kit replaces pump model no. 556014 which the manufacturer discontinued. To keep the engine operating and your boat running, Indmar designed this update kit. It incorporates a newer style pump and all the necessary hardware to upgrade from the original pump design.

The key to maintaining this fuel pump (or any fuel pump for that matter) is maintaining good quality fuel. You want to treat fuel during the season and while in storage to ensure the pump doesn't fail because of old stagnant fuel. We recommend fuel treatment during the season like the K100 Fuel Additives or fuel treatment by StarTron Fuel Treatment. You should also use a Fuel Stabilizer at the end of the season to maintain the integrity of your Indmar fuel pump while in storage.
